Russian Depression formed in St. Petersburg in 2021 by Maxim Komarov . Their journey began with a demo in 2021 mixed by Jonas Everaert at dunk! studios. Due to Maxim's arthritis, he switched from bass to keyboards in 2022 and started work on their first album. Despite the pain, they recorded the album Rock Bottom, releasing their EP Samurai / Rodrigo in 2024 and Rock Bottom in 2025. Their music is a blend of cold synthesizers, dark strings, and powerful instrumental rock.
