Always the Runner was a primarily instrumental band from Louisiana. The original lineup consisted of guitarist Eric Dills, drummer/vocalist Chad Favre, guitarist/keyboardist Garrett Morley, and bassist/keyboardist Ian Stanford.
Shortly after forming in 2003, the band released the two-song EP I Thought I’d Find You Here. Their self-titled full-length album followed in March 2004, recorded by Fred Weaver at Apocalypse the Apocalypse Studios in Baton Rouge. In June 2005, and with the help of producer Andy Baker (known for his work with Maserati, The Mercury Program, and Japancakes), the four finished their follow-up record An August Golf.
