Papa M

Papa M is the solo project of David Pajo, a musician from Louisville, Kentucky, currently based in Pasadena, California. Pajo first gained attention as guitarist in Slint, whose 1991 album Spiderland became a defining work of post-rock. Under the Papa M moniker, he has released albums since the mid-1990s through Drag City, moving between abstract instrumental post-rock and stripped-down acoustic folk. His most recent album, Ballads of Harry Houdini, arrived in 2024 after a six-year hiatus.
