Maïak

Maïak is a post-rock band from Lausanne, Switzerland, formed in 2010. The band consists of four musicians who craft dark and powerful soundscapes, blending melancholic atmospheres with chaotic intensity.

Their music is characterized by long, evolving compositions, saturated tube amps, and emotionally charged dynamics. The band's name is inspired by the Maïak nuclear plant, the site of a hidden Soviet-era disaster in 1957.
