Russian Circles

Russian Circles is an American post-metal band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. The band’s formation traces back to childhood friends Mike Sullivan and Dave Turncrantz, who joined forces after their previous musical projects disbanded. Initially, they were a duo, but in 2007, they welcomed Brian Cook as their bass player, completing the trio. The band’s name is derived from a drill exercise used in ice hockey, a sport that both Sullivan and Turncrantz grew up playing in their hometown of St. Louis. Russian Circles has garnered widespread acclaim through a series of critically acclaimed albums and extensive international tours.
