Ruined Machines

Ruined Machines was an instrumental post-rock and space rock project by guitarist Joe Kenyon, based in Linden, New Jersey. Named after a graphic on a Godspeed You! Black Emperor album, the project became best known for Celestial Bodies, a year-long galactic collaboration with Polish artist Michal Brodka that produced 12 EPs and 12 artworks between May 2012 and May 2013, each inspired by a different planet or celestial body. Blending cinematic guitar-driven soundscapes with progressive rock structures, Ruined Machines explored themes of space, isolation, and wonder. The project later transitioned into Joe Kenyon IV, with a 2024 edit of A Lonely Pulse marking a quiet return.
